Well, this comment is not about Frank Herholdt wonderful conceptual work but about Hermann Hesse's magic one. I've just written this in Judith's "The owl outside my door" blog post about him:
"This is for Franka, but for anybody too: On the unconscious rush of those years I was never aware neither of the existence of Hesse's calm watercolors nor of the peaceful surroundings of his life in Switzerland, of nothing really but the magic of his books and our idealistic dreams then. Thanks to your hessemontagnola link I have learnt so much. I think one learns about oneself through these things too. We should organize a trip to the place. Set a date of something. Being there might close the circle of wondering ... well, at least it would be good to see the place."
I thought I should mention it here, and thank you again. I think if anyone should now do something about it, it's you! :-)
Funny this should follow Pet's comment..I have been looking through the link you gave me Franka and i have been mesmirised. Thankyou so,so much.I was aware he did sketches which are included in his book'The Wanderer' but totally unaware of his beautiful watercolors and the existence of this place dedicated to him. It would be a wonderful place to visit. From my heart Franka...once again thankyou. x x
